Description
Copper sulfate is known under the name blue rock. It is one of the most common copper compounds and is the most industrially produced copper salt. Suitable against fungi on plants, impregnation of wood against fungi, prevention of algae growth in swimming pools.
Method of application to pool water:
First, mix the scalice in a bucket of water and let it dissolve completely in it. Then start the filtration and pour the solution into the pool and then filter thoroughly for 24 hours. The result of your efforts will be crystal clear water that will last you all summer. You can always add chlorine tablets as needed. It is better to check the chlorine value, including the pH, once a week, and you can adjust the water based on the results.
What is blue rock:
Blue rock, i.e. copper sulfate, contains 25% copper. E.g. 4 g of shale contain 1 g of copper. Blue rock is a very cheap and good way to get copper or rather copper ions into the pool water. Copper works as a biocide, suppresses the growth of unwanted organisms and works very well specifically as an algicide, i.e. against algae. The difference between scale and chlorine is that chlorine has a big problem with already growing algae. It would have to be given as much as is unbearable for a person. Sufficiently effective and at the same time life-safe concentration of copper is 1 to 2 mg/l, which corresponds to 4 to 8 mg/l of blue shale, i.e. 4 to 8 g/m3.
